SOLPS analysis and simulation & experiment comparison of filament properties in the TCV-X21 reference case

The talk will discuss two comparative studies for the TCV-X21 case. Initially, the validation of SOLPS-ITER simulations against TCV-X21 experimental data will be examined, highlighting the accuracy and insights obtained. Following this, an introduction to the TCV Gas Puff Imaging (GPI) system and its recent key findings, will be provided. The focus will then shift to a detailed comparison of filament properties in the TCV-X21 case, as observed through GPI and GBS simulations, showcasing their characteristics and behavior.
