  • Professor Dr. Carmen Ulrich, Wuppertal, is a consultant for internationalisation and quality management at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal and a freelance lecturer, author, and business coach with more than 20 years of experience at various .universities in Germany and abroad. Her fields of professional activities include academic teaching [literary and cultural studies], project management, personal and scientific advice, and training. She works primarily in the areas of interculturality, diversity, conflict coaching, leadership and team communication, time management and career counselling.

Supervising doctoral candidates is expected of professors when they are first appointed, and the corresponding tools are tacitly assumed. In order to manage this important and complex task well, leadership expertise and communication strategies are required in addition to professional competence. The workshop provides an overview of possible forms of supervision and explores the scope and limits. [mehr]

CC-Workshop "Resilience and Self-Care: Mental Strength for International PostDocs in Germany"

  • Diana Seyfarth works at the Centre for Teaching and Learning at TU Darmstadt, where she is responsible for mental strength and emotional balance. The educator and experienced mental coach develops innovative concepts based on scientifically proven and tried-and-tested techniques to promote well-being, particularly among teachers and students, with the aim of establishing them as a new cultural technique in educational institutions. She is a certified mindful university lecturer, certified relaxation trainer, expert in aromatherapy and a sought-after lecturer on issues relating to mental strength and emotional health at various other universities (including the Technical University of Munich and the Technical University of Berlin). With her training as a systemic coach and as an experienced university didactician, she supports people in promoting their own well-being and that of those around them.

For over 10 years, she led large teams and conducted numerous salary negotiations from both sides of the table. Today, she works as a salary negotiation expert and collaborates with more than 20 universities across the DACH region.

Before his full-time professional dedication to training he worked at a startup as Head of Computer Vision and as an Evaluator of Horizon 2020 projects for the EC.
