ICRF at ASDEX Upgrade
The ICRF group is responsible for operation and development of the ion cyclotron resonance heating at ASDEX Upgrade
ICRF support experiments
The ICRF group relies on three main high-power testbeds to address physical and technological issues relative to ICRF in conditions representative of tokamak operations.
They offer a flexibility of operation and a control of the test parameters which can not be achieved on a tokamak. The experiments are made available to external teams who wish to test their hardware or investigate specific physical topics:
- ICARoS (Ion Cyclotron Advanced Research on operational Systems)
- MXP (Manipulator eXPeriment)
- IShTAR (Ion Sheath Test Arrangement)
