For the Career Dialogue we invite people with different backgrounds who will initially tell about themselves, their career or their networks and will then answer your questions and engage in a dialogue with you. The purpose of the Career Dialogue is to provide insight into different career paths, to bring you in contact with people outside IPP and to enhance our networks in all directions - science, industry, entrepreneurship, science management.

Our guest will be Dr. Martin Huthmann, who has gained his PhD at the Institute for Theoretical Physics at the University of Göttingen.He now works as a Treaty Underwriter at Swiss Re. His main responsibility is – together with client management - to explore and understand client’s (i.e. insurance companies’) needs for reinsurance protection and treaties, actuarial and legal evaluation of those treaties and to negotiate the final terms and conditions. In addition he works in various solution projects to support his clients. For example, these projects aim at growing client’s business by developing new insurance products or improving the performance by having a better risk selection and pricing.
