The Max Planck Society recommends that research data management and publication be made compatible with the FAIR principles. In this talk, we will present the MMD tools for metadata creation and the publication platform MetaStore available at MPCDF which purpose is to help researchers comply with these principles.

Let's suppose you have an HPC application and you think it should be faster, so you want to optimize it. But where do you even start?

First, you need to understand the behavior of your application, and here, profiling comes into play. Profiling is about measuring certain metrics for different parts of your application to focus optimization efforts. This talk covers some background about profiling and presents some basic methods and lightweight tools that can be easily integrated into applications to facilitate profiling and thus also optimization.
